Baramulla: An elderly man was killed when a police vehicle hit him in Rather Mohalla Delina Barmaulla on Wednesday late evening.
Locals said that an elderly man was hit by a police vehicle and injured critically. He was rushed to District Hospital Baramulla for treatment.
However, the injured, 60 year old Abdul Aziz Ahangar son of Ghulam Ahmad Ahangar of Rather Mohalla Delina, was declared brought dead by doctors at District Hospital Baramulla.
SSP Baramulla said that a case FIR No 39 /2018 under section 304 A was registered against driver constable Abdul Ahad 2757/B who was arrested and police vehicle in question was seized.
Further investigation into the matter is going on.
