JKLF activists stage protest near Budshah Chowk

Srinagar: Several activists of JKLF today held a protest demonstration near Budshah Chowk in Srinagar against the shifting of many inmates to different jails in Jammu.

In a statement issued here, a JKLF spokesman said that on JRL call, JKLF leaders and activists today gathered at Maisuma Lal Chowk and protested against the shifting of many inmates to Jammu jails, rallies by chauvinists in favor of the rapist and killer of innocent Muslim girl Asifa and other oppressive measures by Indian forces.

The rally marched from Madeena Chowk towards Budshah Chowk where they sat on a protest sit-in. various JKLF leaders addressed protesters and strongly condemned the ongoing oppression unleashed against inmates and Jammu Muslims, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the spokesman quoted JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik as saying that protest by Hindu chauvinists led by BJP leaders in support of a rapist is the height of shamelessness.

“Repression unleashed against Kashmiri prisoners is indicative of undemocratic attitude of rulers,” Malik said, alleging that youth in Kulgam are being used as bonded labor by Indian army.

While condemning the ongoing crackdowns, search operations throughout Kashmir valley, JKLF chairman said that now Kashmiri youth and elders are being used a bonded labor by forces.
