Dr. Farooq Abdullah led delegations meets Governor

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 28:  Delegations from Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote, led by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Member Parliament, met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today. Devinder Singh Rana, MLA, accompanied Dr. Abdullah.

Recalling the past history of Administrative Re-organisation of the State, the delegation complained about the unilateral decision of the State Government to post an Additional Deputy Commissioner to supervise the functioning of the Kotranka Sub-Division. It was complained that the Government has so far been taking the position in the State Assembly that new Administrative Units would be set up when the required funds become available.

In this context it was demanded that the geographically difficult and relatively undeveloped areas of Nowshera, Kalakote, and Sunderbani Sub-Divisions call for much greater attention and in this context, an Additional Deputy Commissioner should be posted at a suitable agreed station to look after this entire area.

Governor assured the delegation that he would discuss their demand with the Chief Minister.

The delegations comprised Bipan Paul, Samsher Singh Chib, Bushan Uppal, Vijay Suri, Rendhir Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Young Raj, Bharat Bhushan Gupta and Vishal Gupta.
