Omar asks Delhi to explain Akhtar’s assertion
Srinagar, Feb 20: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that New Delhi needs to explain the basis of a statement made by a senior minister in Mehbooba Mufti-led government over the involvement of China in Kashmir issue.
“China has adopted JeM, a terrorist organisation operating in J&K. This assertion from @MehboobaMufti’s closest confidant cannot be dismissed as wild ramblings. Govt of India needs to explain the basis of this statement,” Omar wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir government’s spokesperson and Minister for Public Words Department Naeem Akhtar in an interview to an English daily linked China’s consistent vetoing to designate chief of Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit Masood Azhar as a “terrorist in United Nations” with Kashmir situation.
