JAMMU, FEBRUARY 20: J&K Academy of Art, Culture &Languages (JKAACL) is organizing a 3-Day Jammu and Kashmir Literary and Cultural Festival from tomorrow to coincide with the International Mother Tongue Day.

This was informed by Secretary Academy Aziz Hajini during a Press conference, here today.

Hajini said that the festival will celebrate and showcase the rich linguistic, ethnic and cultural diversity of Jammu and Kashmir with multiple simultaneous literary and cultural events being held across various venues of Jammu city.

“The city will buzz with activities of various kinds depicting rich cultural ethos of the state with due representation to writers and artists of all the three regions of the State” he added.

While highlighting various programmes of festival, Hajni said that during this three-day fest, the first ever Directory of Writers and Artists of Jammu and Kashmir will be released, published by the Academy under the title Who’s Who of Writers and Artists of J&K, with number, name, pen name, field of specialization and e-mail identity. Besides, the festival will feature art- exhibition, panel discussion, bonfire, mushairas, theatre performances, musical events, folk performances, screening of documentary film Ethnic food festival, demonstrative working of handicrafts besides book exhibition, he added.

He further said that JKAACL will also concurrently release its Annual Report for the year 2017 which highlights major literary and cultural events of year 2017 with date-wise activity details.

Besides, documentary films on Raj Begum, K. L Sehgal, Amin Kamil, Dinu Bhai Panth will be screened during the fest.
