270 health institutions functional in Rajouri: Bali Bhagat

‘16 doctors, 21 paramedical staff in place at DH Ramban’

Jammu, Feb 05:  Minister for Health, Bali Bhagat informed the House that there are 270 health institutions functional in Rajouri district and 42 ambulances are available in these institutions to provide round the clock service to the people.

Replying to the question of legislator Ch. Qamar Hussain, the Minister said patient care is being provided to the people of the district at district hospital, 7 CHCs, 22 PHCs, 33 NTPHCs and 207 SCs.

He further informed that in Rajoiri constituency the healthcare   are being provided through a network of 108 health institutions including 1 DH, 1 CHC, 6 PHCs, 10 NTPHCs and 90 SC/ others.

There are 42 ambulances in various health institutions of Rajouri district, he added.

Responding to another query, the Minister said that at present, there was no proposal to establish   Trauma Hospitals on Mughal road at Dodsan Bala and Behrote. He, however, said one NTPHC and Sub Centre is already functional at these places respectively.

Bali Bhagat said that a SDH is functional in Thannamandi adding that there was no proposal for establishing SDH at Doogi.

The Minister said that against the total sanctioned strength of 24 posts, CHC Sunderbani has 1 Medical Officer, 1 Dental surgeon and 19 paramedical staff.  He said additional staff, including 2 doctors and 10 paramedics have been engaged under NHM to further strengthen the healthcare services in the said CHC.

Responding to another part of the question, the Minister informed that there was no sanctioned post of drivers at NTPHC and Sub Centres and thus ambulances cannot be provided at these levels of institutions. He said in case of medical emergencies, the ambulances are provided to   for patient referrals.

Replying to the supplementary question, the Minister said that the department will identify the health institutions for upgrading facilities   in the border areas of the Rajouri district for providing instant treatment to victims of cross border firing.

Meanwhile replying to a question of legislator Neelam Kumar Langeh, the Minister informed that district hospital Ramban has 24 sanctioned posts of doctors and 57 of other staff. He said presently there are 16 doctors and 21 other staff available in the hospital. He further informed that no posts of doctors and paramedical staff have been sanctioned for Trauma Hospital Ramban so far.
