Secy APD reviews functioning of Agri Dept

SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 08: Secretary, Agriculture Production Department Manzoor Ahmad Lone today chaired a meeting of senior officers of Agriculture department to review the functioning of agriculture sector and the status of expenditure made till date.

The Secretary said that the verification of the ongoing projects will be done by a third party, and directed the officers to complete the languishing projects with proper dedication.

He enjoined upon the officers to provide details of liabilities on account of various ongoing works and their book value created under state capex or Centrally sponsored schemes.

He reviewed the level of expenditure by Chief Agriculture Officers/ Divisional heads and distribution of various farm machinery among the farming community. He further enquired about the readiness of the department for Kharif season 2020 and the distribution of various seeds among the farming community.

In the meeting, district wise status of all the centrally sponsored schemes was sought and distribution of funds and progress of all the schemes was reviewed. The concerned officers were directed to furnish detailed information to administrative department within the shortest possible time.

The Secretary emphasised on officers to provide revised estimates and budget estimates and recurring expenditure.

The meeting was also attended by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, Director Sericulture Manzoor Ahmad Qadri, Director Command Area Tassaduq Hussain Mir, Divisional heads, Chief Agriculture Officers and other senior officers of the department.
