Srinagar, Aug 03: Police on Saturday said it has arrested a person involved in rape and murder of a minor girl in Budgam.
Giving details, police spokesman said Police Station Beerwah received a written complaint that a girl has been kidnapped.
Rajinder Chouhan, a resident of Sitapur Uttar Pradesh, at present working at a brick kiln, stated that past evening (Aug 02) his five-year-old daughter was kidnapped by one Sushil Kumar Chouhan, also a resident of Sitapur, who is also working at a brick kiln in Hayatpora area of Beerwah.
After registering a case in Police Station Beerwah, police traced the dead body of the said girl from a nearby stream at Hayatpora.
During investigations, it came to forth that accused Sushil Kumar Chohan after kidnapping the girl had raped and then murdered the said girl. Accused involved has been arrested and remains in police custody, police spokesman said.
It said dead body of the victim was sent for post-mortem and other medico-legal formalities and forther investigations are going on.
