Andrabi reviews development scenario in Dooru constituency

ANANTNAG, MARCH 20: Member of Legislative Assembly Dooru, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today chaired a review meeting at Verinag Rest House to take stock of pace of the developmental works in his constituency.

The DDC Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik gave a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the achievements registered so far and the pace of execution of various ongoing works.

R&B department is executing 44 works out of which 17 have been completed so far. An expenditure of Rs 5228 lakh has been spent so far against the approved cost of Rs 15128 lakh.  The concerned Exen R&B informed that 59.6 kms of road length have been macadamised this year.

The MLA was informed that the approved labour budget under MGNREGS for 2017-18 for the 4 blocks of the AC is Rs 704.91 lacs for which the generation of 236285 persondays was targeted. However, the department has exceeded the target by generating 379087 persondays completing 956 works.

Under NRDWP, the PHE Division Qazigund is executing 26 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs 4429 lakh which shall be benefitting 115197 souls. Besides, other 90 schemes under Minor Irrigation Schemes are going on at an estimated cost of Rs 2789.84 lakh.

The PDD is executing 4 works regarding augmentation of receiving stations at Shankerpora, Dooru, Dialgam and Dooru feeder segregation. Similarly, under PMGSY, 205 works have been allotted since 2015 out of which 136 have been completed so far.

In Horticulture sector, an amount of Rs 26.37 lakh has been extended as a subsidy under MIDH and PMDP for pack houses, vermicompost, etc.

The MLA also reviewed the pace of work in Model Cluster Village, Bakerwal Chek. The concerned officers apprised the chair about the status of different works.

Meanwhile, the MLA directed all the concerned officers to get the pending works completed at an earliest so that people can enjoy the fruits of development. He called for coordination between different departments so that holistic development is ensured.

The MLA called for harmonization of the teaching staff according to the student ratio so that quality education is ensured.
