Srinagar, Jul 25: Police on Thursday claimed to have solved a kidnapping case of a girl by arresting the accused involved in the crime.
A police spokesman in a statement said that Police Station Kothibagh received a complaint that a girl has been kidnapped.
“Bashir Ahmad stated that his daughter has been kidnapped by one Adil Ahmad Langoo, son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Habakadal Srinagar,” said the spokesman.
“Acting swiftly on the complaint, police recovered the kidnapped girl and also arrested the accused within 12 hours. After legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs,” he said.
Spokesman requested the general public to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhoods. “Community members can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue,” said police spokesman in a statement.
