Srinagar, July 23: The University of Kashmir today expressed deep shock and grief over the sad and untimely demise of one of its employee Rahmatullah Malik who was working as driver in the transport section of the University.

Vice Chancellor KU Prof Talat Ahmad while expressing condolence with the bereaved family prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Registrar KU Dr Nisar A Mir while expressing solidarity with the family members of the deceased recalled the commendable services rendered by the official and said that the University fraternity is with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

Several delegations comprising office bearers and executive members of various associations of KU including KUMSA, drivers association of KU and other employees of the University visited the bereaved family at Bandipora to offer their condolences.

Meanwhile, a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of Rector Satellite Campus Kargil Dr M.S Sumbli was held at Kargil to mourn the sad demise of Rahmatullah Malik which was attended by all teaching & non teaching employees of the campus. Dr M. S. Sumbli the Rector of the campus paid rich tributes to the departed soul and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased.
