PMSYM awareness, enrollment drive held in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, JULY 23: The District Employment and Counselling Centre, Srinagar today organized a day-long awareness-cum-enrollment drive regarding Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PYSYM), here at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh.

PYSYM scheme was introduced in 2019 by Government of India for poor labourers in the unorganised sector from minimum 18 years-of-age to maximum 40 years under which they get a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 over 60 years-of-age.

Commissioner Secretary, Labour and employment, Saurabh Bhagat, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave a brief about the scheme while asking workers to take full benefit of it.

He said that one the State, while as 1.5 crore workers have been registered throughout India, so far.

Director Employment, J&K; Joint Director Employment, Kashmir; Chief Education Officer, Srinagar; Chief Planning Officer, Education, Srinagar; Principal Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh and other concerned were present on the occasion.
