Srinagar, July 23: Completing the record-breaking distance of 440 kms from Srinagar to Leh in 26 hours and 30 minutes, a cyclist from Kashmir, Aadil Teli, has broken all previous records of cycling set by three groups in 2014, 2015 and 2018.
Teli started his ride from Srinagar towards Leh at 6.35 am and passed high altitudes motorable passes like Zoji La (3528m), Namik La (3700m), Fatu La (4108m). He recorded the highest BPM of 206 and maintained an average speed of 20 km/h.
Saleem, who is the senior rider of Cycling Association, observed his ride from Srinagar to Leh.
“I have participated in many Cycling nationals but this is one of the biggest milestones of my cycling career,” said Adil Teli.
“I am very thankful to my coaches, observers and my family members for supporting me,” he added
His ride was sponsored by Winterfell Cafe and technical support was provided by Jammu & Kashmir Cycling Association (JKCA).
