MLA Batamaloo chairs Rogi Kalyan Samiti meet

SRINAGAR, MARCH 19: MLA Batamaloo Noor Mohammad Sheikh, who is the Chairman of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) convened a review meeting of the executive body of RKS Government Unani Hospital Shalteng here today.

Hospital In charge, Dr Javaid Ahmad, ADMO ISM&H Srinagar, Dr Ruksana Jabeen, nodal officer Unani Medical College Kashmir, Dr Shabir Ahmad Gaffari, local members of the executive body, besides other officers attended the meeting.

In the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held regarding the important issues with regard to the hospital and the implementation of decisions taken in the governing body meeting held earlier.

Members of committee apprised the MLA with the issues of the hospital which include regular supplies of drugs, installation of USG, X-Ray machinery, lights, dustbins, electricity supply to be put on the emergency feeder, engagement of lab technician, creation of staff, vaccination centre and drug de-addiction centre in the hospital.

MLA acknowledged that ISM doctors have played a key role in providing basic health care services at all levels and assured that every support will be provided to mitigate the issues faced by the hospital and staff.

He asserted that AYUSH in J&K is witnessing an exemplary growth and wide acceptance among masses and everybody connected with this system needs to understand their responsibility in these times of transparency and accountability.

He also suggested that camps should be organized in nearby villages to make people aware of AYUSH treatment available in the Unani Hospital.

The hospital in-charge, Dr Javaid briefed the MLA about various facilities provided in this hospital and informed that the 50 bedded Government Unani Hospital is the only referral Hospital in Unani Medicines in the valley providing the basic health care services through the Unani system of medicines in a novelist and holistic manner. He added the patients are admitted for treatment in the hospital with Unani Medicines in different disciplines.

Later MLA inspected various sections of the Hospital viz Clinical Laboratory, Pharmacy, OPD Sections, IPD wards and other sections of regimental therapies after having interaction with staff members of the Hospital.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks to the MLA and other members present at the meeting by Dr. Shabir Ahmad Gaffari.
