CEC Wangyal inaugurates children’s library at Spituk, Leh

LEH, JULY 08: Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh, Gyal P Wangyal inaugurated a Children’s Library at Primary School (Thugui Dumra) Spituk.

Secretary, Rural Development Department, Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Leh Avny Lavasa, Councilor Area Phuntsog Dorjey, Director Rural Development Department Qazi Sarwar, Additional Secretary, RDD, Rakesh Badiyal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tsering Paldan, District Panchayat Officer Zakir Hussain, Sarpanches and Panches of Spituk and Choglamsar, concerned BDOs and Nambardars and people attended the inaugural ceremony.

Addressing a public gathering at Spituk, CEC said that LAHDC is fully committed for overall development of the people and urged them to let the Council know about their problems so that timely attention is given to address them.  CEC said the pasteurization plant at Agling is all set to function within days and it would help in value addition of dairy products of the local farmers.

Welcoming the guests and audiences, Councilor Phuntsog Dorjey said that Rurban Mission is playing a key role in development of various much needed infrastructures in Spituk and Choglamsar area and the Arhat Community Hall at Spituk, link roads, street lights, waste management centre and Amusement Park at Choglamsar are some of the important components of this mission.

Later, Secretary Rural Development Sheetal Nanda inaugurated the newly installed Street Lights of Forest Bagh Choglamsar to Palam Bridge under Rurban Mission at an estimated cost of Rs 52 lakh. The DC/CEO, LAHDC, Leh Avny Lavasa and concerned officers and engineers were present.
