Ganie visits GDC boys Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JULY 06: Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie today visited Government Degree College (GDC) for Boys Anantnag.

Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor said that being alumni of the college he feels it a great opportunity to share his views regarding the development of the college.

He said that the GDC Boys Anantnag has the honour for producing a galaxy of scholars, scientists, bureaucrats, politicians and statesmen of the international standard. He emphasized on introducing more skill development and professional courses in the college so that educated youth would become job providers instead of job seekers. He also asked Director Colleges to come up with a Detailed Project Report regarding the infrastructural development of newly sanctioned colleges of Verinag, Qazigund, Mattan, Siligam and Chatisinghpora, besides sought the intervention of DDC Anantnag in land acquisition for the Degree College Larnoo which is functioning in a rented building.

The Advisor also informed that the Government has sanctioned 102 new colleges for the J&K state to ensure higher education facilities to the students at their doorsteps. He also stressed for smart class teaching in the colleges for better understanding of the concepts by the students.

He advised the students to work hard for achieving higher goals, besides urged the teaching faculty to be the role models for the students through all respects.

The Director Colleges, Yaseen Ahmad Shah also addressed the audience and appreciated the role of the college students and staff during the 2014 floods in rescue operations.

The DDC Anantnag, Khalid Jahangir, Director College, Principals of the colleges of South Kashmir were also present on the occasion
