Farooq Lone reviews progress of works under TAD prog

BARAMULLA, JUNE 29: Nodal Officer appointed for Baramulla District under ‘Aspirational Districts’ Programme, Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD) Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone today chaired a meeting of concerned officers here at Dak Bungalow to review the progress made in different sectors identified under Transformation of Aspirational Districts (TAD) programme.

On the occasion, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla Dr G N Itoo presented a detailed account of achievements  recorded in the performance indicators viz health and nutrition, education, basic infrastructure, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and skill development. He informed the chair that the district achieved the top slot in the previous NITI AYOG’S Delta ranking for which the Nodal Officer extended felicitations to the DDC and his team of officers.

Meanwhile, various issues and bottlenecks hampering the path of development was discussed thoroughly wherein emphasis was laid on cooperation among various agencies so that the bottlenecks, if any are resolved in a time-bound manner. Other issues pertaining to education, rural development, skill development, health, social welfare and other vital sectors were also discussed during the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Lone stressed for achieving the saturated results within the shortest possible time frame for which he directed to speed up the pace of work. He exhorted for working with added zeal and enthusiasm, besides resolving all bottlenecks, if any so that the district retains its rank in the succeeding delta rankings.

Earlier, Dr Lone in presence of DDC inaugurated the skill development training programme at AMT School, District Hospital Baramulla. The training session was organized with an aim to educate the students pursuing different medical and paramedical courses about the scope and significance of skill-oriented courses.

Dr Lone, in his address, complimented the concerned authorities for organizing the training programme and highlighted the significance of skill development in medical science in strengthening the health and patient care. He underlined the need to impart qualitative skill training among the trainees and said such elementary services can be utilized in those places lacking various medicare facilities.

Principal Medical College, JDP, CMO, MS District Hospital various district and sectoral officers and a huge gathering of students were present on the occasion.
