SRINAGAR, MARCH 17: Member Legislative Council, Khursheed Alam today carried out a plantation drive at Malakhah in the old city of Srinagar.
The MLC planted various kinds of saplings at the city’s oldest and largest cemetery and called for concerted measures for its protection and cleanliness.
He said that planting trees is a social responsibility of every conscientious citizen and urged people to go for massive plantation and volunteering for environmental protection particularly in the old city.
He also appealed people living in the vicinity of the Malakhah not to throw waste and leftover food in the premises of the cemetery.
