WPL: City Hunks register win against City Club

June 27: In the ongoing Wular Premier League, City Hunks played their important match today with City Club in which the former beat the latter by 72 runs in a one sided game at Sheikhul Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo.

Bating first, City Hunks put up a huge score of 219 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets. Muneeb was the star performer of the day with a scintillating knock of 93 runs followed by 66 of Danish.

For Pink City Club, Suhail and Manzoor took 1 wicket each. In reply, City Club lost the wickets in heap and were bundled out on 148 runs. Bilal with 39 runs showed some resistance.

For City Hunks, Adil and Faisal took 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Muneeb was declared man of the match. City hunk was led by a well known cricketer of the valley Omer Nisar.

Second match of the day was played between Pink City Club and Cricket Club Janwara. After winning the toss and bating first, Janwara scored 156 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Ibrahim was the top scorer with 26 runs, while as Shafqat and Altaf made 22 runs each.

For City Club, Fayaz took 3 wickets and Aamir 2.

In reply, Pink City Club failed to chase the target as they were restricted on 151 runs thus Janwara won the match by 5 runs. Mohammad Altaf was declared man of the match for his all round performance of two wickets and 22 runs.

The tournament is being played under the banner of Sports Association Tarzoo.
