Ganai visits Yatri Niwas, takes stock of Amarnath Yatra arrangements

JAMMU, JUNE 24: Advisor to Governor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today visited Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and took stock of arrangements being made for Annual Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2019.

Joint Director Tourism Shokat Malik, Deputy Director Tourism M&W Pawan Gupta and other senior officers of concerned departments accompanied the Advisor.

The Advisor took round of the entire complex and inspected the upgradation and renovation works being done in the Yatri Niwas.

Ganai directed the concerned departments that necessary arrangements should be made for the Yatris so that they do not face any problem during their religious voyage towards the Holy Cave.

He reviewed the security arrangements for the yatris and asked the concerned to see that no lapse is done on this account.

He asked the officers concerned to keep their activities at maximum to put in place all arrangements like potable water, power supply, stay of devotees at the identified locations in case of bad weather, sanitation, provision of toilets, lodging, langar facilities, installation of hoarding, medicare, traffic and security arrangements.

Joint Director Tourism Department informed the Advisor about various upgradation works completed mainly including complete renovation of Wash Rooms, Vertical Garden in the premises of yatri niwas, state of Art Signage, augmentation of Air Conditioners, modernization of meeting hall, installation of CCTV Cameras in the yatris Niwas besides other works for the convenience of the yatris.

Advisor expressed satisfaction over state of the art facilities being established by the Tourism Department.
