Srinagar: Continuing its drive against illegal excavation and smuggling of clay, Budgam Police in the recent past has registered 5 FIRs against illegal excavators across the jurisdiction of Police Station Budgam.
Police has arrested 6 persons in these cases. 4 JCB machines used for excavation and 09 dumpers (tippers) involved in illegal transportation of clay have also been seized.
Moreover, Budgam police have arrested a notorious criminal namely Sajjad Joo, involved in illegal excavation of clay over many years. 6 FIRs stands registered against him. He was produced before the competent court of law.
