BMO Sallar, Dr Shakeel Ahmad, confirmed that two of the persons were brought dead while eight others had received injures. One person who was seriously injured was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, Rigzin Samphel confirmed the incident and added that a three-day championship in honour of brave heart Rouf Ahmad Dar had been organized by the department. “After the conclusion of today’s rafting, the employee and the participant left for rafting during which the incident took place,” he added.
