Kashmir Images has learnt from the sources at Local Urban Bodies Kashmir that the attachment order has come in the wake of several corruption charges against Abdul Latief Mir. “The department is now fully prepared to investigate all the charges against the Executive Officer,” the sources added.

On 01/05/2019, Director Urban Local Bodies, Kashmir suspended the I/C Executive Officer, MC Sopore vide order no: DULB/PS/601 of 2019 after the  inspection team submitted its report wherein inter-alia the following derelictions have been pointed out, like Drawl/disbursement of salary by the I/C Executive officer in favour of non existing employees in violation of section 307 of Jammu and Kashmir Municipal Act, 2000/SRO: 417 dated 18/12/2008 (Jammu and Kashmir Urban Local Body Institutions (Management) service recruitment rules) and causing loss to public exchequer.

Pertinently, the Executive Officer had challenged his suspension order by filling a writ before the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and had managed to bring stay on the suspension order. He had joined the department on same post and place.
