Several delegations, individuals meet Skandan

JAMMU, JUNE 08: As part of the weekly public hearing programme, several deputations and individuals today met Advisor to Governor, K Skandan, to apprise him about their issues, grievances and sought his intervention in redressing the same.

As many as 32 deputations and individuals apprised the Advisor of their issues.

Local delegations and individuals from various wards of Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts urged for augmentation of power and water supply in their areas. Delegation of ward 25, Rehari colony also requested for immediate repairs to be undertaken at Government Girls Middle School Rehari, delegation of ward 7 requested for immediate augmentation of nallah in the area that poses a risk to the residents.

It was also brought to Advisor’s attention the delays in processing of applications for Old Age Pension Scheme, besides urged for timely disbursement of pension to the beneficiaries.

A delegation of J&K Transport Welfare Association put forth their several grievances/ suggestions including creating necessary support infra, control rooms along with  installation of vehicle Location Tracking Devices, Panic Buttons and High Security Registration Plates (HSRP), relaxation in passenger Tax, charging of Adda fees, parking at Railway Stations, non availability of proper parking spaces for Matadors/Auto Rickshaws, and other issues.

Several delegations from various panchayats also met with the Advisor and discussed their issues and suggestions for development of their respective panchayats.

Other delegations that met with the Advisor include Medical Assistant candidates for DMRRR Department, whose selection list is pending with JKSSB, Deputation of J&K SRTC retired employees demanded release of pending arrears in their favor, Deputation of JDA plot owners requested possession of land in their favor, delegations with land encroachment and other revenue matters, besides several service matters of employees of various departments and state corporations.

Responding to the deputations and individuals, the Advisor assured them that all of their genuine grievances and demands raised in the public hearing would be looked into and taken up with concerned departments at the earliest.
