Arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab Qadar, Eid-ul-Fitr reviewed at Budgam

BUDGAM, MAY 29: Deputy Commissioner, Budgam Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting of officers to review and finalize the arrangements for Jumat-ul-Vida, Shab Qadar and Eid-ul-Fitr.

DC while taking the department- wise/  subdivision wise review called for making foolproof arrangements for the auspicious days especially at prominent places of Charir-i- Shareef, Beerwa, Khansahib and Chadoora. During the meeting, the DC reviewed the status of market checking done across the district from SDMs and joint market checking teams and directed the concerned to intensify market checking to keep check on profiteering, hoarding and overcharging by shopkeepers across the district. She directed FCS&CA Budgam to ensure strict implementation of government approved rate list, besides providing an adequate supply of essential foods including rice, LPG to the public.

DC said that erring vendors, shopkeepers and traders should be booked for violating the rate list.

Similarly the Fisheries Department was asked to make available carp and trout for sale at prominent public places across the district. The Health and Traffic/ Transport departments were mandated to ensure their respective domain areas in a better way.

Stressing on the uninterrupted power as per curtailment schedule and water supply across the district, DC instructed heads of PDD and PHE to deliver as per the required needs.

Emphasizing on the need for pre and post sanitation drives, DC directed concerned Municipalities to intensify cleanliness drive in the district with a focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets.

The meeting was also informed that Animal Husbandry shall keep more than three lakh birds available across the district for sale at designated centers at 10 percent rebate on market rates.

Besides the magistrates were asked to remain vigilant and keep close liaison with the police authorities and the Fire Service authorities were directed to remain in a state of preparedness to deal with any eventuality.

The meeting was also attended by ADDC, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, Addtt. SP, ACR, SDMs, Exen PDD, CAHO, ARTO, Tehsildar Chareshareef, Dy. SP Traffic, AD Fisheries, representatives of R&B, PHE, Legal Metrology, Municipalities, FCS&CA and other concerned.
