Srinagar, May 01: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two notorious drug peddlers at a checkpoint and seized contraband substance & cash from their possession.
In a statement issued here, a police spokesman said: “Two persons identified as Bashir Ah Gatoo son of Mohammad Abdullah Gatoo resident of Naina Batapora Pulwama and Numan Farooq Bhat son of Farooq Ahmad resident of Channapora Srinagar arrested for the drug supply offences have been taken to Police Station R.M Bagh where they remain in custody.”
“Officers at the checkpoint have seized heroine & cash 1, 99,400 from their possession. An Alto car bearing registration number JK03G 7636 has also been seized by the officers,” the spokesman said adding case FIR No 18/2019 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station R. M Bagh and investigation has been taken up.
