Ogmuna, April 05: Mahayan-XI thrashed Ogmuna by colossal margin of 140 runs in the ongoing ‘Ogmuna T-20 Cricket Tournament’, played at Chinar Stadium Ogmuna. Earlier, Ogmuna won the toss and elected to field first, but the decision proved to be futile as Mahayan-XI openers Ishfaq and Abid devastated the bowling attack of Ogmuna team. Both the batsmen exhibited class and played striking shots all around the park. Ishfaq scored 86 runs while as Abid added 58 runs. The pair added 160 runs in 12 overs, before Abid fell after scoring 58 runs. Mahayan-XI subsequently lost the wicket of Ishfaq as well who missed another ton, as he mistimed a lofted short straight into the hands of deep long-on fielder. Both the batsmen had already certified the damage and paved easy ways for other batsmen to follow. The opportunity was well utilized by the other batsmen as brisk knocks by Tanveer (31), Tufail (25) and Showkat (20) helped Mahayan-XI to post a huge score of 259 runs on board in allotted 20 overs.

Chasing mammoth 260 runs, Ogmuna lost Zeeshan in the very first over as he was bowled away by Tanveer for a golden duck. Shahid who joined Mukhtar at the crease went berserk as he scored fiery 60 runs off just 21 balls. Ogmuna were 64/1 in first powerplay. Despite some clean striking by the batsmen, the asking rate kept on ascending. Ogmuna’s merry time ended very soon as Shahid was bowled by Parvaiz. The damage was amplified by Irshad who picked up a hat-trick and pushed Ogmuna on to the backfoot.  Shahid (60) remained the highest scorer from Ogmuna, while as Mukhtar added 25 runs. From Mahayan-XI, Irshad and Parvaiz picked up 3 wickets each while as Showkat picked up 2 wickets. Nasir and Tanveer picked up a wicket each as well. Ogmuna were bowled out for 120 runs hence losing the match by huge margin of 140 runs. Ishfaq of Mahayan-XI was adjudged as man of the match for his blistering knock of 86 runs.
