SKUAST-K Sports week concludes

Srinagar, Apr 30: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) annual sports week today concluded here.

The Sports week saw participations of hundreds of students.

According to organisers, more than 1600 students participated in the sports week conducted in more than 15 sports.

The sports in which competitions were conducted include Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, and Athletics (100m 400m 4x100m), Shot Put, Discus throw, Cross Country Run, Mountain Run and Tug of War.

Convenor of the sports week, Dr Ajaz Ahmad Qurashi, said that sports are indispensable part of life. “Apart from academics, we encourage students to participate in sports activities which increase physical endurance and sports talent is also spotted,” he said.

“Sports week saw lot of response and students in number took part .The sports week was very successful and we will continue to conduct such sports events,” he added.
