Kohli launches Fisheries Department’s App for Anglers

JAMMU, MARCH 13: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli has said that the Department of Fisheries, J&K Government has made a step forward towards e-Governance by way of providing E-booking facility of Trout Permits to Public.

The App has been uploaded on Portal of Department of Fisheries www.jkfisheries.in by the Minister here today at Civil Secretariat Jammu. The App has been developed by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Ministry of Communication and Information & Technology (CDAC) through Information Technology Department, J&K.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that e-booking will facilitates the esteemed citizens as well as Foreigners Anglers. He further said that the App will also facilitate the Anglers about beat locations along with map anywhere in the State where the Angler desire fishing. He said after booking from anywhere in the World the Angler will receive an SMS alert automatically.

The Minister said that the Department was issuing these permits for around 250 Trout beats at Directorate of Fisheries, Srinagar but now with the launch of Online service an angler can book an angling beat will in advance from anywhere in the globe. He said the Trout Angling beats of Kashmir are famous worldwide and Kashmir is known as Anglers Paradise. He said that the Kashmir Trout Brown and Rainbow trout are world renowned Sport Fishes which attract number of anglers to Kashmir from India and Abroad. He said that facility besides promoting tourism in the State will also helping in revenue generation to great extent.

Commissioner Secretary, Animal Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, R K Bhagat, Director Fisheries, R N Pandita and other senior officers of Fisheries Department were present on the occasion.
