Kolkata, Apr 21: Kazakhstan has evinced interest in the startup and incubation platforms developed by the BSE, a top official of the bourse said.

The Kazak Ambassador to India, Bulat Sarsenbayev, had recently approached the BSE for assistance in implementing the startup models at the Kazak Stock Exchange, BSE MD and CEO Ashishkumar Chauhan told PTI.

“We will be delighted to provide necessary support, training and technology in consultation with the Ministry of External Affairs,” Chauhan said.

The BSE has three platforms for startups – incubator in collaboration with Ryerson University and Simon Fraser University of Canada, SME platform with close to 300 listed companies, and a startup platform for new hi-tech companies to get listed, Chauhan said.

“We are interested in the startup and incubation platforms developed by the BSE. We have held some initial talks in this regard,” Sarsenbayev said.

In addition, the success of the BSE-promoted India International Exchange at Gift City in Gujarat is also of interest to Kazakhstan, the head of the country’s oldest bourse said.

Since there is no financial implication from such services and consultancy, assistance can be provided on a friendly, bilateral understanding.

“Preliminary discussions are underway. Usually, BSE provides training and other help to exchanges of other countries on friendly basis,” Chauhan added.
