Srinagar: A prominent Hurriyat G leader, Aga Syed Hassan was detained by Income Tax Department at Srinagar Airport and Rs. 14.5 lac were recovered from his possession.
Sources said that Aga Hassan, a resident of Budgam had reached Srinagar Airport from Delhi in an Air India flight.
“IT Department officials frisked his belongings and recovered Rs. 14.5 lac. He was taken to Police station Humhama,” sources said.
Sources said that while Aga Hassan was later let go, the cash was seized by the IT Department for further investigations.
