Ganderbal Badminton Association​ meets to chalk out preparations for upcoming district Championship

Ganderbal, Apr 14: Ganderbal Badminton association today met here  to chalk out preparations for upcoming Ganderbal Badminton championship.

In the meeting preparations for the district championship were discussed and emphasize was pit on the conduct of the championship in  a professional way so that  players could not face any inconvenience.

It was also decide that District championship will be conducted in the month of June.

For wider participation​ and evoking  interest in Badminton the association decided to conduct zonal level competitions to find out talent in far-flung  areas of Ganderbal.

Further more Badminton tourney will be conducted in Safapora ,Lar   and Kangan in current month  and free 10 day coaching camp in Ganderbal will be also conducted very soon.

Secretary  GBA Dr .Ajaz  Ahmad Qurashi  said, “We should start with new vigor to  promote and develop Badminton in Ganderbal. Our focus should be on grass root development and we will reach every corner  of our  district to promote Badminton.”

“Despite meagre resources we have been working in Ganderbal for more than five years and we will continue to work despite hardships,” he added .

For infrastructure development of Ganderbal Indoor stadium the association will  also meet Secretary J&K Sports Council   and DC Ganderbal.

On the occasion some new members were inducted in the association.

Among others the executive members  of the association who were present in the meeting were    Ajaz Ahmad Shah,President, Javiad Ahmad lone, Organising secretary,Mohd Aslam Qurashi, Vice-president, M Rafiq Bhat joint organising secretary, Idrees Ali, Publicity secretary and Mehraj-U- Din.
