He were instrumental in shaping the pediatric and particularly neonatal care services in Kashmir Valley.

A man of impeccable integrity, Dr Daljit Singh bade good-bye to government service when government banned private practice by the doctors working in various state hospitals. Thereafter, he concentrated solely on his private practice at his clinic in Hazuri Bagh area of Amirakadal in uptown Srinagar, where he would see scores of children on each day.

Paying rich tributes to the deceased, DAK described his death as a great loss to the medical fraternity here, saying his death has caused a great void in the field of medicine.

“His commitment to the welfare of people of the state was commendable. He rendered his services to the people of the state at a time when many doctors left them to fend for themselves,” DAK said.
