JK Guv doesn’t even know of orders issued by Delhi: Farooq Abdullah
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar, Apr 11: Asserting that affairs of the state are directly managed by New Delhi, National Conference president Farooq Abdullah Thursday said that Satya Pal Malik is not the Governor of J&K but a “BJP’s man” who is not aware how this state is being run.

To substantiate his charge, Abdullah said Governor Malik doesn’t know that the orders concerning Kashmir are directly issued by New Delhi.

“He doesn’t even know that decision on highway ban was taken by New Delhi. Union Home minister Rajnath Singh’s statement and Home ministry’s statements have proved who has taken this decision,” Abdullah said.

Abdullah said that New Delhi should remember that people of Jammu and Kashmir are not their slaves. “If they want us to be like that, then they should also be ready for the situation that will emerge here, which can’t be controlled,” he added in apparent reference to BJP’s promise to abrogate Article 370 and Article 35-A of the Constitution that give special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

Abdullah also said that the electorate across India have to decide whether the country will be “secular India or Hindu India”.

Talking to media-persons after addressing a gathering in Dal Lake here, Abdullah who is contesting Srinagar parliamentary seat, said this election is different as it is not about only Jammu and Kashmir but about the whole country.

“People have to choose whether they will go with the secular India or Hindu India,” he said.

He said that people are coming out to vote to save the Muslims, the Sikhs, Buddhists and people belonging to other communities. “People have come to know that if they don’t cast their vote, then they can’t change the situation,” he added.

Abdullah also said that people in the Valley have suffered a lot for this vote.

About less tourist arrivals here, Abdullah said there was negative publicity about Kashmir as “Governor of one of the state (Meghalaya), who is a RSS man, asked people to not visit Kashmir and don’t go for Amarnath Yatra, but even then the tourists continue to visit the state.”
