JAMMU, APRIL 06: National Conference Minority Cell has urged the migrant voters to participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in a big way and ensure victory of secular forces for steering Jammu and Kashmir to peace, progress and development.

“We appeal to the migrant voters based outside the Valley to cast their votes in favour of Dr Farooq Abdullah from Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency in the second phase of elections on April 18 and ensure his victory with a huge margin”, Former MLC Vijay Bakaya, according to a statement, said while addressing the migrant voters of the constituency here.

Bakaya said that vote to Dr Farooq Abdullah will be support to the initiatives of the National Conference in heralding peace and creating conducive atmosphere for the people of all the faiths to live in harmony. He said the party has offered numerous sacrifices in maintaining secular ethos of the state and there is need to promote and sustain it for the posterity to lead a better life.

Addressing the gathering, former MLA and National Conference leader Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar referred to the relentless efforts made by National Conference for heralding a new era of peace and tranquility during the past three decades and blamed divisive forces for sowing the seeds of hatred and mistrust between various communities.

Sheikh Jabbar criticized the anti-people policies of the BJP and said these have to be countered by maintaining and unity for which the state is known world over.

NC Minority Cell President M. K Yogi urged the voters to help the forces which can ensure turnaround in the situation and initiate a new era of peace and tranquillity in Kashmir.

Yogi said referred to the initiatives taken by National Conference from time to time with regard to solving the problems of the displaced people, ensuring speedy recruitments under the Prime Minister’s package and improving the conditions in the tenement colonies. He said much has been done and still more is required to be done, which can be achieved only by strengthening the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah.

NC Provincial Vice President Anil Dhar urged the migrant voters, especially the youth to play their important role in ensuring the victory of National Conference candidates from Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla. He said the vote to the party candidates is support to the progressive policies of National Conference.

NC Provincial Vice President Vijay Laxmi Dutta exuded confidence that sagacious migrant electors will make judicious use of their votes and support the National Conference candidates in a big way. She highlighted the need for isolating divisive forces by strengthening secular forces to usher the state in a new era of peace.

Besides Provincial Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, prominent among those present on the occasion Raju Sehgal, Jatin Bhat, Harmohinder Singh J. K Mujoo, Ritesh Koul,  Dr Sheikh Amina, Ashok Koul, Rajinder Dhar, T. K Dhar, Arvind Wali, Ved Lal, Sushant Trisal, Anshul and others. They also urged the voters to ensure the victory of Dr Farooq Abdullah with a big margin.
