GANDERBAL, MARCH 09: – To review the preparedness of Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Phase 2 campaign in the district, a meeting of District Task Force Committee (DTFC) was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal N.A Baba in his office chamber, here today.
Chief Medical Officer, Ganderbal, District Health Officer, Ganderbal, District Immunization Officer, Ganderbal, all BMOs and officers from department of Education and ICDS participated in the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held on the issues of IPPI campaign phase II and the concerned officers were directed to work with zeal and fervor so as to make the IPPI phase-II campaign successful.
During the meeting, Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal appraised the chair that 231 vaccination booths had been setup in different parts of the district for the campaign to cover 45780 children of 0-5 years for vaccination. Besides, 323 health workers, 340 ICDS workers, 258 Asha workers, 46 Supervisors and 19 voluntary workers will be placed on booths and transit points to make the campaign successful. He also added that door to door service will be provided after the campaign for two days to immunize the left-out children and proper arrangements for cold chain have been made in order to preserve the vaccine for ultimate usage.
ADDC stressed upon the officers of Health, ICDS, Social Welfare and Education departments to put in their sincere and coordinated efforts to make the district polio free. He said that education and ICDS departments would play an important role in disseminating the message of IPPI campaign through their field functionaries to the remotest areas.
Further, ADDC directed the concerned officers to aware the people through necessary means, such as electronic and print media to be near perfect in disseminating the information all around the district regarding this IPPI phase-II campaign. Moreover, all the concerned departments were directed to put in concerted efforts in deployment of trained staff in the booths at the appropriate time without any lapse. It was also decided that the campaign shall be inaugurated by ADDC at District, SDM as Sub-District and Tehsildars at Tehsil level.
