Skandan meets 36 deputations, individuals during public hearing at Jammu

JAMMU, MARCH 08: As part of the weekly public hearing programme, several deputations and individuals today met Advisor to Governor, K Skandan, to apprise him about their issues, grievances and sought his intervention in redressing the same.

As many as 36 deputations and individuals from different parts of the state met the Advisor.

A deputation of J&K Horticulture Graduates demanded introducing of Rehebar- e-Baghbani scheme in the State.

Deputation of J&K SRTC retired employees demanded release of pending arrears of COLA in their favour.

Deputation of Kashmiri Pandit Migrants raised the issue of relaxation in Recruitment Rules for increasing waiting lists of the candidates selected under Special Prime Ministers Employment Package for migrants. The Advisor assured them that the matter will be taken up with the Chairman, Service Selection Board and Law Department for examination.

Ex-legislator Choudhary Qamar Ali demanded establishment of a Model Village.

A deputation of Jammu-Akhnoor area raised the issue of enhancement in rates for land compensation acquired by the Government for of Jammu-Akhnoor road widening.

A deputation from village Gool Gulabgarh area demanded separate district for Gool Gulabgarh.

Patwari Association headed by its State President also met the Advisor during public hearing and raised various issues including removal of pay anomaly, conduct of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meetings, amendment in Non-Gazetted Recruitment Rules for Naib Tehsildar posts etc.

A deputation of landowners whose lands were identified by the government for construction of Ring Road demanded sanctioning of land compensation as per Central Act.

Another deputation of employees of JK Cements, Khrew demanded adjustment in other departments.

Various individual deputations also met the Advisor during the hearing and projected issues which included upgradation of schools, construction of protection bunds and naibat status.

Responding to the deputations and individuals, the Advisor gave them a patient hearing and assured them that all of their genuine grievances and demands raised in the public hearing would be looked into and necessary action would be taken by the concerned departments.

Among others, Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation, M L Raina, Joint Director Horticulture, Tarwinder Singh and other senior officers of various departments including Rural Development also attended the public darbar.
