Srinagar, March 06: People’s Conference (PC), leader Dawood Lodhi, has thanked the governor administration for declaring ‘Utligam’ village, in Beerwah constituency, as backward area.

Terming the decision historic, he said it will help people to be equal partners in higher education and employment, and will give boost to development process in the area.

He also thanked the PC Chief, Sajad Lone, who during his tenure as Social Welfare Minister, in the previous govt, recommend Ultigam village for backward status.

“It has been possible due to Sajad Saheb’s personal efforts. The people of the area are thankful to him,” he added.

Lodhi also demanded establishment of degree college in tehsil Khag of Beerwa sub-district. “The demand for Degree College at Khag area is long pending, and I appeal Governor Saheb to look into it,” he added.
