Saurabh Bhagat reviews preparedness for launch of PM-SYM pension scheme

JAMMU, MARCH 02: Commissioner Secretary Labour and Employment Department Saurabh Bhagat today said that the State is ready for the launch of ‘Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan’ (PM-SYM), a pension scheme, which will be launched on March 5.

Commissioner Secretary said this while chairing a meeting with officers of different Departments to review preparations regarding the launch of PM-SYM scheme. The scheme will cover domestic workers, street vendors, brick kiln workers, cobblers, rickshaw pullers, rag pickers, cleaning staff, auto drivers and many more.

Threadbare discussions were held on various issues with regard to mobilization of unorganized workers by Labour Commissioner, CEO J&K BOCWWB and Director Employment and allied departments.

The meeting took stock of arrangements like webcasting of live telecast on Doordarshan, sanitation, participation of beneficiaries by concerned departments, security and traffic arrangements besides other arrangements.

Stressing on the need to work with utmost dedication, Saurabh Bhagat asked the concerned departments to work with coordination so that adequate arrangements would be made for the successful conduct of the programme.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, Director Employment Y. P. Suman, Joint Director School Education M. Latif Choudhary, Joint Director Information Jammu Naresh Kumar, Joint Director Employment Anu Behl, Additional PF Commissioner Sudershan Kumar, DLC Jammu Shehnaz Akhter, CEO/Secretary BOCWWB M. A. Pir and other concerned attended the meeting.
