PULWAMA, FEBRUARY 25: District Development Commissioner Pulwama  Syed Abid Rashid today met various delegations at DC office Complex Pulwama here .

The deputations representing Civil Society group, representatives of Idarah Auqaf Islamia Pulwama /Khrew, Traders Federation, Citizen’s Council Tral, Fruit Growers Associations, Saffron Growers Association, transporters and public delegations from all across the districts called on the DDC.

Projecting their demands, Idarah Auqaf Islamia Pulwama and Traders Federation Pulwama asked for the construction of maternity hospital at Pulwama town for which 60 kanals of land is available at Sirnoo Pulwama, renovation of roads and beautification of Dhobi Khul and Pulwama town, adequate staff for District Hospital, uninterrupted electricity, drinking water facility, establishment of grid station, demolition of encroachments in the town also.

Fruit growers association during their meeting with the DDC demanded immediate release of compensation for orchardists and availability of Kerosene oil.

The delegations from Khrew and Tral demanded Tehsil for Khrew area, development of road connectivity, upgradation of schools, playgrounds, improvement in electricity, macadamization of roads, and upgradation of Health centers in these areas.

Meanwhile a delegation of Saffron Growers demanded adequate irrigation supply, protection of Saffron land and complete ban on illegal sand extraction from river Jhelum.

DDC gave a patient hearing to all the issues and demands of the delegations and assured them of appropriate action and redressal.

Hailing the contribution of the district in the growth and economy of the state, DDC said that Pulwama should be the new face of administration in the future. He said that focused attention should be accorded to completion of ongoing works in given time frame as administration is already committed to the completion of incomplete projects in the district.

DDC reiterated his commitment in taking Pulwama to new heights of good governance and responsive administration. He added that the sole motive of his administration would be bringing public services at the doorsteps of the people.

Later on, DDC also convened a meeting of LPG and Petrol pump owners and took a detailed review of the status of stock and supply position, allocation, lifting, distribution of essential commodities including ration, petrol, diesel and LPG across the district under Public Distribution System. He directed the concerned authorities to put in place effective monitoring mechanism to ensure that distribution is rationed so that the public inconvenience is timely checked

He directed strict action against the hoarders and the dealers failing to keep proper buffering stock.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Joint Director Planning, Assistant Director Food and Supplies and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.
