Srinagar,Feb 19: Condemning assault on Kashmiri people by what they termed “chauvinist” forces, Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), asked government employees to observe complete strike on February 22, Thursday, as a mark of solidarity with the people of Kashmir who are “being attacked by frenzied mobs” in Jammu and other parts of India.

EJAC, which is an amalgam of various employees’ unions, also said they will second every decision of traders and civil society with regard to the issue.

“We demand roll back of rusticate orders of Kashmiri students so that their future is saved from getting ruined. We also demand withdrawal of cases against the youth,” said EJAC president, Fayaz Shabnum addressing presser at Kashmir Press Club here.

Shabnum said besides students, employees and business fraternity continue to face harassment by hooligans who have let loose a reign of terror across India.

He alleged essential supplies have has been suspended to Valley-based Move employees in Jammu.

“A milkman who somehow managed to reach secretariat employees was stopped by the police. Fifteen female and seven male students have been rusticated from different colleges and universities in different states of India. Isn’t it injustice with Kashmiri people?” Shabnum added.

He said in case the governments failed to act against the frenzied mobs, they will chalk out future course of action accordingly.
