Noida College too suspends a Kashmiri student

Srinagar, Feb 19: IIMT College of engineering, Greater Noida has suspended a Kashmiri student for posting an ‘anti-national’ comment over Pulwama attack on social media.

The chief proctor of the college Sanjay Pachauri has also written to concerned Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and demanded an “exemplary and strict action” against the “culprit”.

“llMT desires that strict and exemplary action should be taken against the culprit,” reads a letter addressed to SSP Gautam Budh Nagar.

Chief Proctor has stated that lshfaq Ahmad Khoja from Kupwara was suspended from college on February 16 after he posted “anti-national” comment on social media.

“On being asked he (Ishfaq) replied via Facebook that his ID has been hacked and was directed to lodge an FIR at local J&K police station. But he failed to comply with the direction,” reads the letter.

Meanwhile, authorities at the SGT University of Gurgaon, Delhi have rusticated a Kashmiri girl student for her social media post over the Pulwama attack.

A university official said that the action was taken following a complaint against the fourth semester student of radio-imaging technology.

The girl, who has not been named, has become the seventh student of Kashmiri origin who have either been rusticated or suspended by the varsities in India following the attack on a CRPF convoy that left 49 troopers dead.

Four Kashmiri students were suspended by the authorities at the National Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) for alleged ‘anti-national’ comments.

Two students of SUS Engineering College Tangori were suspended for alleged ‘anti-national’ posts on social media.
