Chenab Valley reeling under darkness for last many days: Dr Shahid Mogal

JAMMU, Feb 14: Expressing dismay over the sluggish approach of administration in mitigating problems of people arising from recent snowfall in Chenab Valley especially Bhaderwah constituency, National Conference (NC) senior leader and Bhaderwah Town Municipal Chairman Dr Shahid Mogal regretted that state administration was unconcerned about the miseries of the people reeling under darkness for many days due to heavy snowfall in the Chenab valley of Jammu Province.

Dr Shahid Mogal while addressing a press conference said that there is no electricity in Bhaderwah and road connectivity in Bhaderwah, Doda, Kishtwar , Ramban and other  parts of the Chenab Valley.

He further urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to restore power supply in the region and direct the concerned departments to clear the 6 to 7 feet snow lying on the roads.

Expressing concern over non availability of essential commodities including LPG cylinder, Dr Shahid Mogal urged upon the present dispensation to address the grave issue.

Dr Shahid Mogal also urged the Governor to compensate the farming community who have lost around 70 to 80 per cent fruit orchards which were damaged due to recent snowfall in this picturesque valley and adjoining areas in  Doda district and Bhadarwah, along with Kellar, Bhallesa, Dessa, Chatroo and Marmat.
