JAMMU, FEBRUARY 14: Secretary Disaster Management Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (DMRRR), Farooq Ahmad Shah, today convened a meeting to discuss various issues concerning migrant families residing here and took stock of facilities being provided to them.

The meeting was attended by the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Manohar Lal Raina, Additional Commissioner Jammu, Additional District Development Commissioner Jammu, Deputy Commissioners of Udhampur, Rajouri, Doda, Reasi, Poonch, Ramban, Samba and Kishtwar also participated the meeting through video conference.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various issues raised by the Jammu migrants with the DMRRR for their redressal.

It was decided that the issues projected by migrants would be taken up with the concerned quarters for their early redressal.

The meeting decided that free ration be given to 428 migrant families from Doda for further three months besides the matter be taken up with the concerned for further perusal.

While discussing the issues of 84 migrant families of District Reasi residing at NHPC Colony Talwara, the meeting was informed that DPRs amounting to Rs. 22.540 crore were prepared and submitted to Government for approval including repair and renovation of 990 quarters and huts, renovation of Health Centre, construction of Common Facility Centre (CFC) Building, Anganwari Centres, construction of three additional rooms for primary school and repair of lanes and drains.

It was further informed that in first phase repair and renovation of 100 quarters and huts, primary school, Community Hall, lanes and drains would taken up at a cost of Rs. 4.49 crore for which NOCs from NHPC and District Administration have already been issued.

The meeting was told that a rehabilitation package for Jammu migrants to the tune of Rs. 91.56 crore has been already submitted to the Union Government for approval.

The Secretary directed the concerned officers to make a comprehensive project report of the facilities which are required for the up-gradation of the infrastructure and other such amenities for the migrant families.
