Sopore, Feb 13: Ahead of Supreme Court hearing on Article 35A, Civil Society Sopore on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest here against, what they called as, the attempts to abrogate special status of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to local reports, a group of members affiliated with Civil Society Sopore Wednesday assembled near general bus stand Sopore and registered their protest over the “attempts to abrogate of Article 35A”.
Holding posters that read “SAVE Article 35A”, civil society members demanded immediate dismissal of the petition challenging the Article in Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, all shops and business establishments remained closed across Sopore town in wake of separatists call for shutdown.
