Tourism Dept continues its promotional campaign, participates in OTM Mumbai

MUMBAI, JANUARY 23: Continuing with its promotional campaign, J&K Tourism Department participated in a three-day Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) in Mumbai, which began here on Wednesday.

Over 100 travel agents, hoteliers and houseboat owners from Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions of the State participated in the Trave Mart.

The Department provided free space to the travel companies, hoteliers and houseboat owners who conducted B2B and B2C meetings with their clients.

Many other travel companies and hoteliers had also set up their separate stalls to promote their companies and the state’s tourism products.

Director Tourism Kashmir Nisar Ahmad Wani, Deputy Director Tourism Publicity Riyaz Ahmad Shah, Joint Director Tourism Jammu Showkat Mahmood participated in the three-day show and interacted with the representative of the tourism boards from different states and countries.

OTM is one of the biggest travel shows in Asia providing platform for travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, destination management companies, and tourism boards to sell their products and network to their potential clients from across the globe.

Director Tourism Kashmir said they the J&K Stall received a good number of visitors on the first day who enquired about different tourism products of the State and showed keen interest to visit J&K.

Over 20000 visitors, including domestic and international sellers and buyers, State tourism officials, heads of international tourism boards, hoteliers, and aviation experts showcased their products and services to the global trade community.

During the convention, local travel and hospitality sector also conducted business sessions with the visitors and the principal agents.

Tourism Department also screened short films on different destinations and on various themes for the visitors who were mesmerized to see the State’s stunning beauty and diverse tourism products.

A large number of visitors turned up at J&K pavilion to inquire about the State’s tourism products, new destinations and infrastructure development.

Earlier also the department participated in another travel show South Asian Travel and Tourism Exhibition (SATTE) in New Delhi.

The Department in collaboration with Kashmir Hotels and Restaurant Owners Federation organized its first roadshow at Pune in which over 100 travel companies from Pune participated.

The department has planned series of road shows and shall also participate in travel marts in the next two months.
