A private car parked on the roadside was partly damaged due to the explosion, the official said.

This is second attack on government forces in Srinagar in as many says.

Militants hurled a grenade on police personnel at Zero Bridge here on Thursday, resulting in injuries to four policemen.

In another incident, militants lobbed a grenade at government forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir, the police official said, adding there was no injury to anyone and damage to properties due to the explosion.

The attacks come less than 10 days ahead of Republic Day celebrations.

Meanwhile, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant group claimed responsibility of two grenade attacks in Srinagar and Shopian districts today.

A spokesperson of JeM Mohammad Hassan in a statement issued to news agency GNS claimed that “three forces personnel were critically injured in the attack on the CRPF vehicle at Lal Chowk”.

He also said that several forces’ personnel were critically injured in the attack at Gagran in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
