Forest contingent leaves for Raipur to attend 24th National Forest sports meet

JAMMU, JANUARY 6: The Forest Sports contingent comprising of 62 persons leaves for Raipur today to attend 24th Sports meet being held from 9th to 13th January 2019. The Sports meet is being held after 2 years, the last event was held in Hyderabad.

The contingent will be participating in events including Badminton, Tennis, Football, Athletics, Shooting, Golf and Indoor Games.

Flagging off the contingent the Principal Chief Conservator Forest, Suresh Chugh said that the contingent has prepared well and they will be doing their best in the sports event and win a lot of medals.

He said that Forest Department has very outstanding players who have been winning gold at the National Sports Meet consecutively for many years specially in Billiards, Snooker, Cricket and Football.

The Chief Conservator Forest Sameer Bharti on this occasion said  that sports is very important for keeping healthy mind and body and this also increases the efficiency of the employees.

Forest department have selected all the teams under the supervision of departmental selection committee comprising of Chairman, Asif Mahmood, Brij Mohan Sharma, Samuel Changkija, M K Kumar and Sports officer and experts of Sports Council who were present during the selection process.

Flagging off was also attended by Forest Conservator East Circle Mohan Das DFO Jammu, DFO Urban Jammu and other officers of Forest Department.
