Pulwama Volleyball Tourney kick-starts in Pulwama

Jan 02 Pulwama: A mega volleyball tournament under Sports for Peace and Development was integrated today at Women’s Degree college here.

Dr Saleem- ur- Rehmen, Director General of Youth Service and Sports Department who was chief guest on the inaugural ceremony of the mega volleyball tournament inaugurated the event and interacted with the participating players.

24 volleyball clubs are participating in the four day tourney at block Pulwama. More than 300 players are taking part in the tournament.  From 6th of the current month the sporting activities particularly in the game of Volleball shall be conducted in different blocks of District Pulwama which include  Pampor, Kakapora and Tral.

Director General YS&S initiated the inaugural service of the first volleyball match between two clubs. He in his address to the young players highlighted the importance of games & sports for the all-round development of an individual. He applauded the efforts of DYSSO Pulwama for creating an encouraging atmosphere for games & sports throughout the district. He assured that every talented sports person shall be groomed further to make him/ her player of National/ Internal Repute. District Youth Services & Sports Officer Pulwama Noor ul Haq was also present on the inaugural of the tourney.
