While JKLF offered Ghaibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza (funeral prayers in absentia) at Maisuma, activists of Hurriyat (G) assembled at Amira Kadal Bund here after Zuhr (afternoon prayers) and offered absentia prayers for slain Pulwama civilians.

The call for Ghaibana Nimaz-e-Jinaza was given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik.

On the occasion, JKLF leader Hakeem Abdul Rashid said those killed in Pulwama by the army sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from what he termed “illegal” occupation of India.

He said India should read the writings on wall that people of Kashmir prefer freedom over their lives.

Hurriyat (G) activists also expressed sympathy with the families of seven civilians saying their sacrifices will not go waste.

“Our heart goes with the families who lost their sons to cruel bullets of army. We express our sympathy with them and assure them that sacrifices rendered by slain will not go waste,” they added.
